MARIUS JACOB FOUNDATION
A collective and self-managed financial tool to support resistance, alternatives and struggles
We need you!
Since 2019, the Marius Jacob Foundation has been financially supporting struggles and collectives.
We started small, with passion and revolt. Today, 200 people pool a portion of their income monthly with the foundation, and more than 100,000 euros have been shared among a hundred projects. Now, every two months, 9,000 euros are distributed among seven grant applications.
To continue to amplify social movements and struggles in all their diversity, to strengthen autonomous and bold dynamics, to meet the challenges we face, and to see big: we need you. Join us by becoming a contributor!
IN SHORT
The foundation is a collective financial tool for emancipation, to support activists, alternative-building and struggles of individuals and collectives, working on changing our system.
WHY?
We believe it is essential to support feminist, antiracist, ecological, and social struggles. More than ever, we need social movements that resist injustice, collectives that bet on direct actions, alternatives for collective emancipation, and initiatives that embrace solidarity.
The principle of the foundation is simple: we bet on our ability to pool as much money as possible together and organize its redistribution to collectives and initiatives in need. In this way, we aim to strengthen the autonomy, independence, and impact of grassroots social movements.
What we do
Several types of support are currently offered by the Foundation:

How we work
HORIZONTALITY and SELF-MANAGEMENT
Democractic and participative ways of working are important to us. Therefore our way of working is horizontal. The projects that are financed are chosen by a randomly drawn comittee and the different tasks are distributed between the working groups of the foundation.
POOLING and FINANCIAL AUTONOMY
In order to finance the foundation, we count on our collective ability to pool a percentage of our income (for example 1%), but also on donations or bequests in cash or in kind
